First let's give our "thanks" to John Sauer, the brainchild behind the "pop-up" tea party concept. The Mandarin/Julington Creek community group held our first pop-up tea party Friday 13 August.
Lori brought her three grand daughters and Karen brought her two sons. They waved flags and marched up and down the sidewalk; this is all about the future for all of our children.
We had more good feedback than bad, but most of all people noticed and hopefully felt some level of patriotism seeing all the flags.
Jim brought a ladder fashioned as a sandwich board sign and we wrote "Tea Party info here" on it about an hour into our two hour rally. We had much better feedback when people knew who we were. Learning curve, we will have that clearly defined at our next rally.
The rally was a success, as several people pulled into the parking lot to see what we are about. They filled out registration forms, took copies of the constitution, bumper stickers, and stated they would be interested in attending future pop-up rallies as well as community meetings.
I just want to send a big THANK YOU to all who made this event fun and productive!!!
