Marie is the daughter of one of our FCTP members, Jerry Merckel.  She is reaching out in an effort to help a family in need, below is her letter explaining the situation.  If you feel you would like to help out, please contact Marie; her email is at the end of the letter.

Good morning-

This year I am teaching at Grove Park Elementary School. I love it and especially love the children. GPE is one of our neediest schools in Clay County. We serve the largest % of free and reduced breakfast and lunch in the county as well. First Baptist on Kingsley is a partner with us to help cloth, feed and do just about anything for the kids.

I am reaching out to everyone because there is one family in particular that has touched my heart. It is a single mom that has three boys, ages 13, 12 and 10. These three boys are sweet, polite well-mannered children that are too educated in life's challenges. Mom just moved out from her sister's home with the boys and is renting a place. I have learned from the children that they have two mattresses and that is it literally. The boys rotate sleeping on the floor. Food is also an issue for the family, I know there are nights when they don't eat. The boys are on our free food plan here at school, so they do get 2 meals a day on the school days. We do have a meal program here at school to help feed families, but because the boys did not start the school year with us, they are on a wait list for that program(The program feeds 15 families at our school and our wait list is long). I know their Thanksgiving break was rough because they sometimes went without food.

I am asking for help for this family. I would like to help furnish their home and get some food in the house. If there is anything that you think you might be able to donate at all, whether it be groceries or furniture, it would be greatly appreciated. My biggest goals are to get 2 more mattresses,a kitchen table so they can eat there, and of course food.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you all-

Marie

The woman, Marie, who reached out for help has been inundated with people willing to help, which is a very encouraging situation.  However, she did not expect such an overwhelming response to help, so please don't get discouraged. Give her a few days to work with this family and figure out what to do.

A drop off location has not been determined at this point.

In the spirit of Christmas, I thank everyone who has taken the time to respond to this call for help and offered assistance to this family.  This touches me deeply as it demonstrates that the true American spirit of helping our own is alive and well.

This was the way it was for hundreds of years before, from barn raisings to birthings and just helping your neighbor. Then government showed up. It all went down hill from there.

To all that have responded, THANK YOU and YES Marie is overwhelmed.  However, isn't it great that she is overwhelmed because so many people want to HELP!  We are working with her to organize this effort.

Thank you all for your generosity and patience!

I contacted Marie via email and she responded.  However, she has not given me a specific list of items from which to choose or a time and location she would want them delivered.

I suspect she is a bit overwhelmed with the response from Tea Party members.

Billie, This is the way it's meant to be, people helping people.  When someone cries out for help, we will respond. Government needs to take notice of us teapartiers for what we truely stand for.

I can keep her in eggs coming out her ears, i just gave out 200+ eggs to different people who need the them. She can use eggs in a ton of ways and they are free range no hormone. I can make sure she has that. I could make a semi run to her when she needs them. Do you know what she is lacking in?

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
