Dear Members: You Should Know About This

As many of you know, the First Coast Tea Party belongs to a Florida Statewide Tea Party Leaders Google Group.  We have been together for nearly two years now.  The group is a secured, confidential group and we discuss issues, thoughts and frustrations among tea party friends.  We do this to coordinate efforts in the state of Florida and bounce off ideas.

Today I was called by the press about an email that was written by me to this private email group.  The email was a part of a large discussion about the Tea Party and the 2012 election and focused on what happened here locally and how that could be applied to our future work.  My email called out the GOP Lawyers who advised the Mike Hogan campaign to let it go and concede.  To put it lightly, I felt they should have advised them to continue the battle and push hard to make sure … as Alvin Brown said “Count Every Vote.”   I mentioned a 2 hour phone conversation I had with Jerry Holland the day after the concession where I was asking questions to understand what happened and why the concession was so quick.  Jerry Holland was forthright and answered my questions with sincerity and professionalism.  My email indicated how upset I was that the GOP Lawyers did not encourage a fight because I knew the “political machine” would have fought hard and would have kept this process going a lot longer.

To get to the point, either the “political machine” or a mole in our group (doubtful) stole that private email string and sent it to the media.

To say the tea party leaders were shocked and disappointed is an understatement.  To say my trust level has been shattered is another understatement.

Abel Harding called me to get a statement about the email.  It is circulating all over the media and of course they are running with it.  This is juicy news.

I spoke to Abel this evening and told him that was a private email that was stolen and the tea party leaders in Florida were very upset about that.  I stand behind the message of the email and believe the Political Machine did beat us and the GOP lawyers should have fought harder for a win.  We found out the GOP does not understand who Alinsky is and Alinsky IS the Political Machine.  No one organization or person is to blame for the loss of this race and ALL of us are to blame for the loss of this race.

The media loves this story and the GOP is not feeling good right now nor are we.  That message was between friends as we tried to understand who the GOP is and how to fight the Political Machine so we can win in 2012.

These are all hard lessons for us.  All of us who worked together to win the mayoral race were stunned with the outcome.  The Political Machine beat us and that is the fact.

What we must do is figure out how to beat the Political Machine in 2012 – by either coming together with a plan; setting up our own political party; OR hunkering down and wishing it would all go away.  At this point, I think we would all agree we must come together to figure thiout.  The GOP is weak about the Political Machine and so are we.  The Machine has massive amounts of funding and a grassroots system that surpasses all of us.  Without funding, a system and boots on the ground, we are going to be fighting an uphill battle that we will not win.

The country loses, the GOP loses, the tea party loses and the people lose.

The end of this story is this:

  • We are getting under someone’s skin so they want to infiltrate our emails and our websites.
  • The GOP and Tea Party must figure out how they work together – if they do.
  • The Political Machine is alive and well in Florida and will not be going away until December 2012.

Abel Harding will have his story about this sad state of affairs tomorrow.  There is also another story brewing that the local GOP leader and the Tea Party are in a pointing fingers match with each other and the tea party is being blamed for Mike Hogan’s loss.  That is an outright lie and no one in the GOP leadership or the Tea Party has said anything of the sort.   We are not blaming each other nor are we blaming the Hogan camp.  The blame lies within everyone who had anything to do with this PLUS the 300,000 peope who stayed home and did not vote.

We have gained one more notch in our political belt!  We are new to this political game and finding how dark and difficult it is.  These notches are hard to take but they are worth it all.

On another note:

  • Please be aware that the Political Machine is trolling our website trying to have conversations with bloggers.  We are watching these conversations closely and will remove these people from our website when we see hanky-panky.
  • The day after the election a member received a phone call from someone asking about the bumper sticker she has “Take Back America.”  She told them where to get it (our office) and they asked her if she was a tea party member.  She said yes.  A few minutes later the same person called backed believing he was calling someone else.  She confronted him and he stammered with her until he hung up.  It appears the Political Machine is working from a list and trying to identify tea party members.  If you get a call, beware of that tactic.  As for me, I’m proud to be a Tea Party Member and will gladly say “Yes” when they call.

No one said this would be easy and no one said the press would like us.  No one said our friends would not rat us out.  No one said we would win every race.  But someone did say, “Any people that would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”  That man was Benjamin Franklin and he understood that fighting for liberty would require a lot from each of us.  There are days I wonder if I have it in me to keep it up.  Then I cry my tears, wipe them away and say “Hell No – I’m not going away.  I owe it to my grandchildren and to those who fought and gave their lives for my freedom."

I am willing to risk everything I have and will continue to do that no matter what the press writes or what the infiltrators do to me. The months ahead will require strong, principled people to stand up to the Political Machine, stare it down and say:  “Machines don’t win, people do!”

Are you game for this?  Will you go with us?  Will we let the press or the Political Machine marginalize us or the GOP so Obama and his political class can win in 2012?

I planned to take the last couple of days off and that has been impossible.  I will be taking next week off to recharge the batteries and prepare for the next battle.  I may write a blog or two while I am away but I do not plan to entertain the media or anyone else about the mayor’s race.  It is finished and there is no need to cry over spilled milk.  Instead, it is time to clean it up and figure out a way to eliminate the spills in the future!

And a final note:  “Be careful what you put in a private email.  It may end up as a headline one day.”

Kurt, where can we get one of those bumper stickers I wonder :).  I love it!

I haven't taken the time to read through all the comments, but I have not seen what strikes me the most about what is going on.

It should be clear to all that the Tea Party, being the grassroots, central leaderless organization it is, is now forcing the media, from local to national, to take off the gloves, remove the masks and expose the FACT that what is supposed to be an unbiased free press is actually the single most centralized polical force in America.

Everything going on today is showing the Times Union and local stations are pulling every stop in DEFYING their own citizen base.

The Tea Party is an ever growing group of everyday citizens who have had their fill of business as usual corrupt insider politics and now the media has removed any doubt that they are central in this corruption and central in the liberal political machine.

If there was ever any doubt about the tail wagging the dog, look around today.

I think I see a new bumper sticker: Lying Demediacrats

Patriot One, my apologies, i misunderstood, i just assumed a machine to crawl in the gutter, is to do the same thing, with the lies and to mass community organize paying people to do so, etc., doing the exact same thing as they are period.

You are right about the  communication, we should of had the GOP backing, the state representatives and the backing from our Congressional representatives. We had Governor Scott, but should of had more. Corrine Brown was actually hitting the ground, i guess Jacksonville does not mean anything to the others, and we should tell our elected representatives that and the the GOP, RNC, etc., make our voices loud and clear we are ticked off that they all wrote us off and did not care about the votes here in Duval county, perhaps we will not give them our support or votes come the next election cycle.

The more we talk, the more suspect i am getting of this election, especially since the winning area was the last to be counted, WHY? Is that area always the last to be counted? Was it in 2010? 2008?

t's only natural for Supervisor of Elections, Jerry Holland to want to defend the integrity of the elections process. I've met and talked with him and I like him and respect him, but, until there is an audit of the registrations for the past year and an audit of the votes cast, we won't know if he's right.

We've seen documentation from all over this country of confirmed cheating in both registrations and voting in the past. And, we know the enormous efforts that were made on Alvin Brown's behalf by out-of-state national and international groups that came into this local county election in Florida and spent a huge amount of money to win this election for Alvin Brown. He had to do very little campaigning on his own where he would be in a position to have to answer the hard questions---especially the Tea Party's questions.

Like JL wrote, it's strange that the Republican candidates for City Council did very well, so I ask:  Why would those same voters, who voted Republican for Council members, not have voted for Mike Hogan to be Mayor? It defies logic to believe that they would not have.

This is something I believe the Tea Party would be wise to take a stand on.  If we don't have what it takes to challenge an election, when there are so many suspicious variables related to questionable actions and outcomes, what are we courageous enough to go to the mat for? And, what credibility would we have in faulting any candidate for not going to the mat to win or challenge a loss in their own race for election?

It took a lot of courage for George W. Bush to fight for his win in the 2000 election. We should be just as willing to stand up and fight the Democrat political machine that just steamrolled us.

I think we need to get off the election results as this should not be the focus at this point.  Even Jerry Holland said in the paper this morning, there is no reason for us not to trust the results.  We also need to face the fact that when people move here from New York and the New England area in general, they love Florida because it isn't the tax ridden place they came from, but they have not yet figured out that what they left is their own faults, so they bring their liberal voting habits here with them and will keep right on voting the same way until Florida is nothing more than another New York or Massachusetts.  It is a fact of life that these people flat out don't get it!  Unless we get busy and start organizing and attempting to get out those voters who did not and do not want to live in New York state for all the obvious reasons, we will eventually be living exactly that.

JL I agree with you totally, but we have to change tactics. If we are"neutralized" we can shout Honesty, Integrity, truth, honor, duty, country from the roof top and no one will hear us.

Second, crawling into the gutter does not mean we lie, cheat and steal. It means using their tactics against them. The police, military, CIA are all willing to crawl into the gutter for truth, liberty and the American way.

It is my belief that almost 60% of the population have no clue what is really happening in America. They are to busy watching Idol, Dancing with the stars or a whole host of other shows on TV. At the rate we are going as a country we will be socialist, the USSA, before the masses come out of their stuper.

What they want most is infighting in the Tea Party. As I stated they want to "Neutralize" the Tea Party. We are fighting for our way of life and win, lose or draw, America as we know it, will change.

We should all try to commit to registering 10 new voters each between now and Sept. 2012. Quietly mustering the troops to put boots on the ground and pack the poling places with new registered voters. You know who votes in your family and you know who doesn't.  Its the one who doesn't vote we need. We don't need educated activist, just conservative voters and they are your friends, family and church members. Get them Registered. Get them to the poles. Get them to vote. If you don't, who will?

I will stand up for truth and honor and IF the general population wants to go the other way, then they are the fools and deserve who ever wins the vote. Personally i do not believe people are that easily deceived. Voter apathy and lack of exciting the vote by the candidate, the local, state and national GOP is what failed. Funny it did not happen with the city council race...
Comment by JL Gawlik on May 22, 2011 at 9:36pm

Patriot One, i disagree on that having a machine willing to crawl into the gutter. That is ridiculous. I really do not understand the fear of people reading the truth about things. That is how the progressives have fooled people, is that what you wish to do, is fool the people? Lie, cheat and steal? Pardon, me but i prefer to take a higher road, if you have noticed, people are starving for the truth, they are fed up with lies. There is a whole  undercurrent of pissed off people, who are appalled at the lies being said by Wasserman-Schultz, Pelosi, Reid, President Obama, etc., people can read, they can see clearly what is going on, WHY else are progressive liberals going rabid? What happened in Jacksonville, in my opinion was failure to engage voters by Hogan, after talking to a lot of his supporters just in my neighbor, they all assumed he had it in the bag. There was no engagement with the local GOP, state GOP or RNC, that was their failure and they are NOT on TOP of things since they did not even sense the movement going on in our area. Perhaps lack of communication across the board plus voter apathy. Interesting you stated: So, we need a Machine and we need a machine that's willing to crawl into the gutter. This is censuring by fear, and restricting communication.

Then why in the hell, didn't crawling in the gutter work against the city council candidates or the previous Republican candidates for mayor?

Comment by Patriot One on May 22, 2011 at 9:16pm

First off assume no communication is secure. Second this is how they plan to "neutralize" the Tea Party. Whether they use a plant or hack confidential communication, the democratic machine now controls the soap box. Think about it folks Google, Facebook, Twitter; these companies are all data compilers that dump into Fusion centers. So if you think they can't read your mail, I have a bridge for sale. Oh did I mention these companies are all liberal?

They have learned how to use the technology, and / or created the technology so they can now Flash Mob the poling places and the ballot box. Do you really think everyone just took to the streets at 10:30 at night on a Sunday night when Obama got Bin Laden? Brown go elected by the Machine. The other Brown got reelected by the Machine.

So, we need a Machine and we need a machine that's willing to crawl into the gutter. This is censuring by fear, and restricting communication.

Comment by Patricia M. McBride on May 22, 2011 at 10:22am

Amando, I am not saying limit what can be discussed or talked about censuring or limiting what anyone can say if they want to share their plans with the world.  I am saying we have to be at least as smart as the other side.  They were here for months before we knew about them registering people to vote and canvassing.............it was certainly far to late by the time we found out.  They are also not like us.  We don't go snooping around in their web sites etc, but democrats don't seem to have much in the way of principles and anything is game in their book, and they do come here trying to find out what we are doing so they can squash it or outdo it.  No one says we have to share everything with them.

I have no questions for Jerry Holland.  I know if he says the election was fair and square it was.  He really does not take sides on anything and his who purpose in the job he does is to make sure everything is honest and above board.  If you want to know what the election laws are, go to the Supervisor of Elections site and pull the 35 page booklet and read about the election laws, because that sounds like the info you are looking for.  If the info isn't there, I am sure Mr. Holland can refer to other information that would answer your questions.  The election laws booklet really should be required reading for anyone involved in a campaign or political party in an active way anyway!

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
