The headlines got to me again today.  The call out for Democracy seems to be the buzz word of the year.

I remember watching the Egyptian Arab Spring unfold and tried to understand what was really going on.  The Mainstream Media and the White House supported it and used the words “democracy” for all.  They helped the people in the street become “free” from the hands of their leader, Mubarak.  This was supposed to be a good thing.

This week, the truth about the Arab Spring in Egypt finally made headlines and since I’m a professed Christian, this one really got to me – “Christians under siege in post revolution Egypt.”   Could this really be happening?

See for yourself at:  http://www.faithfreedom.org/features/news/msnbc-christians-under-si...

These words moved me -- “Outside the Coptic Hospital in Cairo, where bodies of 17 slain protesters were brought, a Coptic woman named Iman Sanada with a small cross tattooed on her wrist, lamented the deaths and shrieked: “It’s my right to live as a citizen and not a second-class citizen.”

Remembrances of Sunday School lessons swirled in my head and Moses stating to Pharaoh, “Let my people go” resonated in my soul.  History repeats itself and I thought, “Oh Egypt, will you never learn your lesson?”

More headlines caught my eye.  The red flag of Communism is Occupying the streets of America.  The Communists are marching with Occupy Chicago and one of their leaders is identified as Organizing for America’s organizer for President Obama.  You can find this information at   http://biggovernment.com/rebelpundit/2011/10/17/update-communist-ma...

In the article, the leader states, “we plan to use the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America.”

There's that word again... democracy.  I thought, “America is not a democracy, Mr. OFA Leader and Communist instigator.  America is a Constitutional Republic that is the best type of government possible for ALL people because it gives us the freedom that no other form of government can.”  See more about the differences between a Republic and a Democracy:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DioQooFIcgE

Suddenly the words of the pledge filled my head  -- “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands – One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”

As the pledge swirled in my head, I read an article about the Occupy Movement where President Obama supports their efforts.  You can find the article here:  http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20116707-503544.html

He stated:

"American people understand that not everybody's been following the rules," he said. "These days, a lot of folks doing the right thing are not rewarded. A lot of folks who are not doing the right thing are rewarded. That will express itself until 2012 and beyond until people feel they are getting back to old-fashioned American values."

Read that again.... “Those who are not doing the right thing are rewarded and we are going back to old-fashioned American values?”

On the surface, his words “sound” good, but ring hollow for those who are truly seeking American values.

What about those who seek Justice?   The family members of murdered Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry want justice from our government for the crime committed against him.  Brian is considered “collateral damage” in the Fast and Furious scandal that the mainstream media is trying to push under the rug of secrecy.  Our government is responsible for the death of Brian Terry and where is Justice for him?

What about those who sought to choose their leader through the civic duty of voting?   Americans want to know why the Black Panthers were not prosecuted for doing wrong as they intimidated people FROM voting in the 2008 election.  Pictures and videos proved they were guilty and justice was not served and no one was committed of this crime. Why?

Is this what Democracy looks like?

Just when I thought I had read enough, another headline caught my eye.

Occupy Orlando being led by the Muslim Brotherhood

The Muslim Brotherhood, really?  Are these the same ones who are killing Christians in Egypt?  That could never happen in America, could it?  Read and watch the video from Occupy Orlando here:

http://theunitedwest.org/jihad-alert-is-the-muslim-brotherhood-dire...

Can we take anymore of these headlines?  Shall we turn our head and pretend it isn't happening here?  No is the answer.

The headlines are not for the weak but we are not weak.  We are strong.

Americans are not like any other country on this planet. We will not allow occupiers, communists, decievers, liars or Islamic extremists to take our country -- our Republic -- down.

We will fight and we will win.

Here’s why.

Good wins over evil.  Always has, always will.  Evil can be recognized easily and it shows up in words of hate, lies, injustice, immorality, and deceit.  Be wise and listen intently to the words of those who shout in the streets about "injustice" or "democracy."  Remember these words of scripture from Matthew:  "Be aware of wolves in sheep's clothing."

Good shows up in documents written on behalf of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  That is our foundation and that will be our resurrection too.  Remind yourself of your rights as an American citizen and they can be found in the Bill of Rights.  Look them up.

So fear not - America will rise again and she will rise up because you will rise up.

How do I know?  Because the words of Isaiah 41:10 began replacing the headlines I had just read.  Isaiah’s words “…do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you”

Protecting the Republic is not for the faint of heart but fear not, God is with us and He will lead the charge.

I think we'll end this blog with our song as a reminder to the greatness of America and the Republic for which she stands!

Mr.Barrow thank you sir for your sevice to this great county and your patriotism also thank you for your support. On another note I spent this Sunday morning watching the media coverage of the events that have unfolded in the last couple of weeks. My real interest was to see how many times Ron Paul and M. Bachmann get coverage. To my surprise they actually had an interview with Bachmann but congressman Paul was never mentioned not even once.

Roma & Tom

I think that one of the two of them will be the candidate in the end.  I'm still going on a limb and saying Ron Paul will win.  Herman Cain is already starting to waver on his 9-9-9 plan.  To me that shows he either didn't really think the plan out well enough and he is trying to salvage it or the other option is he is just a normal politician that flip flops when his ideas are challenged.  I think it is a combination of the two.  His comment about how he knew this attack was going to happen and he was just waiting for the attacks to start till he whipped out his real plan to me is very telling.  Very Obamaish if you will.  Also his issues when he was on the board of the energy company has not even come out yet in a debate.

I think Ron Paul's support goes a lot deeper then the people that are called for the polls as many are not typical political people in the conventional sense and that will show when the primaries start.  As an example take Iowa.  In the straw poll he came in a statistical tie with Bachmann but when you take polls in Iowa he comes in third or fourth.  I also think as other candidates fall away Ron Paul will look more and more appealing.  Many people are looking for someone that is consistent and honest with real solutions and as the others drop away it will allow Ron Paul more room to shine.

Just my analysis but I'm only 32 and I have only followed politics for about 8 years now so I may be totally off.

I find that people are not going to agree with everything in a candidates plan the thing with me is I want an honest person who really has the welfare of the people and this country in their heart. Ron Paul will put this country back on the right track and with a little help from the congress and senate he will do away with a lot of government programs that are bleeding this country to death. He will return us to the gold standard and do away with the federal reserve, reduce regulations on businesses and allow this country to prosper. These are real actions that will work not some slogan comming from a political pie hole. Bachmann is also a good candidate she is a smart woman that will stand up for the constitution. I would like to see a Paul/Bachmann ticket. That may be the balance we need.

Yes I don't like Bachmann due to some of her positions but she is consistent.  She doesn't have the length of time being consistent as Ron Paul but in Washington just being consistent for a month is impressive.  Look at Herman Cain he is already changing his 9-9-9 plan.  Now it is 9-9-9 unless it is 3-3-3 or if you are in an 'opportunity zone' whatever the hell that is.

Sounds like his plan would still pick winners and losers like our current system and it still gives us another way for the government to tax us in the future threw the sales tax on top of the income tax.  I personally like it when he said something along the line of 'that he had this plan all along but he was waiting to bring it out until he got beat up on the straight 9-9-9 plan'.  That sounds like a typical politician-like comment.  He loses more and more credibility as the days go on.  I'm surprised that no one has brought out the scandal at the energy company yet.

And who are the people in the government that are doing the hanging? It was and is the very same that spit on us when we returned the very same that are now circumventing the constitution so that they can implement socialist, communist power over this republic to destroy the personal liberty that me and my brothers and sisters fought to keep. I am not so much concerned with the individuals protesting wall street as I am with the infiltrators within that group and the groups that have taken the leadership of the protest. I see motives that are unhealthy to our nation at work within these protests. I am very well traveled and I have seen the very good in governments and the very worst and I recognize the bad when I see it.

Mr. Upshaw,

In my work I have the fortune of working with military veterans from time to time. On several occasionsI have come contact with Vietnam era veterans whose disregard for actual government is profound. They feel betrayed and lied to and have no faith that our government in anyway is about what it portrays itself to be. When I hear  them, I have a hard time not siding with them and their complete lack of trust. They feel like they were hung out to die.

Comment by Steve Tikas on October 21, 2011 at 12:04pm

@Mr. Upshaw-Yes you are right the government is protecting one group and not the other.  If the government just got out of the way, which is what they should do, and not support either group.  No ones life, liberty, or property is being harmed the government has no business being involved.

Amanda democracy is mob rule and people are not to be trusted with democracy as it allows the majority to force the minority to do what they want.  The only time I have read about that this worked was in the book of Acts after the death of Jesus and even then it didn't work for a long time.  The idea of democracy destroys liberty and freedom and flies in the face of what made this country great.  Protest are not a democracy they are a protest or you could call them a movement.  If we had a democracy the majority could just go down and kick them out but we have a rule of law and since, for the most part, there have been no laws broken they are allowed to stay.

Our Republic was made to defend the rule of law not for the good of the majority or minority but for the cause of liberty and freedom.  Liberty and freedom are ideas and an idea does not see numbers, skin color, religion, sex, or anything else and those idea treats everyone fairly.  Right now it is not the majority in the sense of the most people that are damaging the rule of law, liberty, or freedom it is the elite ruling class of this world.  I support OWS in the reason behind the movement but not in what they want to replace things with.  I agree our system is broke but the way most of them would fix it would lead to our system being even more broke just in different ways.

I do agree with you that using slander does nothing to help any cause and just makes you look childish.  I said that when people attacked the Tea Party with names and insults and I will stand by that regardless of if I agree with a movement or not.  Labels of all sorts do nothing but drive wedges between the people of this country and do nothing to foster the open exchange of ideas.  I'm not saying that all the ideas that OWS are good but people should be allowed to speak them without being insulted.  If you don't like what they are saying switch the channel, turn off the TV, read a book.  Changing the hearts and minds of the people is were things will be fought and won not with insults.

That doesn't take away from the fact that many out there are from the Muslim Brotherhood, self professed communist, and other groups that want nothing more then to force people to live the way they think they should.  That goes against the idea of freedom and liberty which is why I will fight them.

I am all for peaceful debate and depending on the situation I will also support violent debate when all other options have been exhausted.  I will fight for my liberties and freedom and I would rather it be done in a peaceful way but sometimes that is not enough.

Amanda it was not the government that spit on me when I returned to the US after Viet Nam it was a anti war protestors and it was the election of those individuals into our government after the war who made us feel like second rate citizens and denied us benefits and credit for our service. I for one resent your reference to a subject that you are to young to have any knowledge of. And until you have made such a sacrifice or walked in the shoes of a combat vet who by the way gave you the freedom to spew that garbage I suggest you stow that and take you coments to your Face Book page.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
