It’s Friday but Sunday Morning's Coming Down

You don’t normally get two postings in one day but this is the final weekend before Election Day – next Tuesday, May 17^th.  So here I am – forgive me, please.

I’m sure many of you have plans for the glorious weekend.  Some will be at the TPC (wear sunscreen), others will be working in their yard, and others may be heading to the beach.  Some are cleaning the house, grocery shopping, and getting together with friends for dinner.  Others are walking the neighborhoods for their favorite candidates and even more will be on the phones calling to encourage voters to vote.  Some will go out to dinner with their spouse or cook a big meal on Sunday for the family.  Weekends are great and so important to rejuvenate us.

As you enjoy your weekend, would you make plans to do one more thing?  You see, we heard that the left is pretty organized on Sunday before Election Day.  Here’s what they do.  They have busses lined up in church parking lots and after church services; they haul everyone to the polls.  They call it:  Take a Soul to the Poll.  I got to give it to them – that’s a good one and we’ll steal it!

Here’s our suggestion for your Sunday this weekend:

• Contact your friends and invite them to worship with you this Sunday.
• Pray during church for our local elections and that God will have favor on us.
• Afterwards go out for lunch or have your friends over to your house for a cookout. 
• Then after you eat, head to the polls together and place your vote.  The polls are open until 4:00 Sunday.  You can find all the Early Voting locations here:  www.duvalelections.org. 
• After voting you can stop off and have an ice cream cone for dessert or a yummy frappucino at Starbucks (they are half off between 3:00-5:00 until May 15^th). 
• Take pictures and upload them on our website or on Facebook.  We would love to see what you did on the final Sunday before Election Day.
• Make it a fun day and let’s show the left we can “Take a Soul to the Poll Too!”
